Padres National Anthem Goes Terribly Wrong

Padres National Anthem Goes Terribly Wrong

In last night's 17 inning marathon that concluded with Yaisel Puig's single, wasn't even the biggest headline of the game. In fact, it was what happened in the pregame ceremony that turned heads.

The San Diego Gay Men's choir were invited to sing the national anthem prior to Sunday's game against their crosstown rival Dodgers. They took the field prepared to sing the anthem, and instead of a number of male voices coming through the PA system, it was the lip syncing of another woman's voice. Check it out.

Seriously, how the hell does this happen? These poor guys are standing out there hung out to dry in front of a crowd of people listening to some woman sing. As a fan at this game, I'd love to hear their reaction because it must have literally been the most confusing thing ever.

"HERE'S THE SAN DIEGO GAY MEN'S CHOIR!!!" *rando woman voice starts singing it*

So clearly someone pressed the wrong button in the control room or something, and are being "disciplined."Have to feel for the choir that had their thunder stolen here, pour one out. Also if you're interested here is the very lawyer-y statement given by the Padres which is kind of funny.
