Happy 42nd Jeets!
Seems like just yesterday the Captain was giving opposing pitchers nightmares, filling out an elite dating diamond, and hoisting 5 World Series Championships. Believe it or not we are already two years removed from Jeter's final season in pinstripes. It's crazy how quickly time passes by when you really sit down and think about it.
Derek Jeter came up the year before I was born and has been the shortstop for the Yankees throughout my entire childhood. He certainly has a special place in my heart and I'm sure almost every Yankee fan can concur. With the way the team is right now, it's been a difficult adjustment as a fan to make because when Jeter was there winning was the only option. So let's relive some of the best moments from the greatest shortstop to ever play the game.
You're playing yourself if you can't enjoy this 20 minute highlight reel.
Then there's obviously the dating diamond, which is nothing short of remarkable.
For how lowkey Jeter kept things, especially off the field, this is perhaps the most mind blowing thing. Since he has been in the MLB (20 years) these are all of the women he has been with, obviously excluding any one night stands and not so famous people. How in the world did nobody come out and try to tarnish Jeter's image, or do something spiteful to get back at him. It's truly remarkable and I think it's a testament to the kind of person he is.
What a legend, through and through. Happy Birthday Jete!
