Copa America Day 1 Recap Day 2 Preview

Copa America Day 1 Recap Day 2 Preview

Match day one featured the opening ceremony which was pretty well done. There was a blend of Spanish and American music, with Jason Derulo producing some fire on the stage with his dancing around some smokes. Now to the game, an overall awful performance by the US. Fans looking forward to the first major competition on US soil since the 94 World Cup and thats how the team rewards them. Colombia got off to an early lead on a corner finish by Cristian Zapata who absolutely burnt Geoff Cameron, who claims there was a pick involved, but there wasn't, Cameron was just caught flat footed. In the 40th minute Captain Michael Bradley made the worst pass of the game which lead to Colombia getting transition and a controversial handball call in the box by Deandre Yeldin. This call was much discussed at half time and in th postgame show but I believe it was a handball. Jámes Rodriquez stepped up the spot and had Brad Guzan guessing the wrong way and gave Colombia a 2-0 result which ended up being the final. The US played better in the second half, had one really good chance by Dempsey but Ospina made a beautiful save. Next game for the US against Costa Rica could be a must win pending on Costa Rica's result today.

Match Day 2 Preview

Three matches in total with the first one being:

Costa Rica v Paraguay- This game should be fairly close and there will most likely be a feeling out process in the beginning, but I see Campbell scoring in the second half to give Costa Rica a 1-0 win.

Haiti V Peru- There's a reason this game is on Fox Sports 2, both teams possess no players that an average soccer fan would know. This game is going to be pretty tough to watch, but eru sucks a little less final score Peru 2-0.

Brazil V Ecuador- This game will be the best match of the day and it's on at 11 PM ET so if you get home from your nightly festivities around 12:15 you should have a solid 40 minutes of soccer to watch. Brazil playing without Neymar will look a little lost in the first half, but Hulk scores the equalizer in the second half Tie 1-1.

Lets see how wrong these are tomorrow in the day 2 recap day 3 preview blog.
