Chris Sale Got Scratched From His Start Yesterday

Chris Sale Got Scratched From His Start Yesterday

When I first heard that he got traded I assumed that he was traded (trade talks are apparently picking up, I really don’t want him on the Red Sox) but apparently it was because he freaked out.  He had told the White Sox front office that he didn’t want to wear throwbacks because they were uncomfortable but they made him anyway. So when the throwbacks were in the locker room he cut the jersey up so that they couldn’t wear them.

My initial reaction was that Sale is a gigantic loser and a softy (to be fair though, I think that’s because I’m sour on him because I thought his reaction to the Adam LaRoche situation was absolutely ridiculous) but, unfortunately, the White Sox front office is in the wrong here. Apparently every White Sox starter this year has picked the jersey they want to wear for every game. So, when your ace says he doesn’t want to wear throwbacks don’t pick throwbacks. It’s like the front office wants Sale to hate them.

That being said, Sale probably shouldn’t be such a head case, but baseball players are weird like that. He’s definitely not NOT a puss.
