Is Bryce Harper Not Really As Good As Everyone Thinks?
Disclaimer: I am not a Bryce Harper fan my brother has him in fantasy baseball and he's made him insufferable to me.
Now, I know this is a pretty hot take but when you think about it it's not that ridiculous to think. Last year was insane for him. Incredible to watch and something we might not see again from a player not named Mike Trout, but before last year he's been a .270 hitter each year before. And this year he hasn't hit for average at all. I know he's in a slump for the ages going 4 for his last 40, but he's batting .237. That's horrible. Before the break he was fighting to get up to .270 which isn't that good for a player of his caliber. I'm also well aware that he leads the league in walks but that can't matter that much. Anyone who thinks so is just looking for an excuse for Bryce. This all leads to my question of if he's just not that good? Because I'm starting to think just that. He'll probably end up hitting 30 homers this year, which is good, but he'll only bat like .260-.270. If that's who he is, that's not that impressive.
