Yasiel Puig Doesn't Seem To Be Taking His Demotion Too Bad
After being demoted during the trade deadline in favor of the Dodgers acquiring Josh Reddick, Yasiel Puig hasn't seemed to mind it one bit. In fact, video evidence suggests that he is actually having the time of his life in the minors.
The 25-year old is hitting just .260 this season, with 7HR and 34RBI. The Dodgers are in a wild card spot and would make the playoffs if the season ended today, but no thanks to Puig. Since Puig's 2013 breakout season where he hit .319, with 19HRs and a .534 slugging percentage, he has been on a steady decline. So much so that he finds himself back in the minor leagues, only this time with $42 million more dollars to spend. Have a look for yourself...
LA Dodgers team officials delivered a statement about Puig snapchat story this weekend, "We are aware of what Yasiel posted on social media last night and while we are disappointed in his and some of our other players' judgement, this is a matter we will address internally."
Oooooooo, he's in trouuuuubleeeeee. Just kidding, Yasiel obviously does not give a rats ass, which is a damn shame because he's a talented ballplayer, and its looking like he's heading down the Johnny Football route. My guess is he's elsewhere in the Majors come next season, as he has essentially thrown away his opportunity in LA.
PS - If you go to 1:20, someone on the team yells "Dicks out for Harambe," which is respectable. #RIPHarambe
